Mopp, a start-up in Shoreditch that has grown by 500% over the last 3 month was formed by two best friends, Pete Dowds and Tom Brooks, who tried and failed to book a cleaner online after a house party in Whitechapel. On April Fools Day 2013, Mopp was born. It allows you to book a trusted cleaner online in 60 seconds for just £10 an hour, and have just released an iOS App to make it even easier. G: Tell us about your business: What do you do?
We are Mopp, an online platform that allows you to book a cleaner online in 60 seconds. We’re bringing a previously offline industry online. We’ve just launched an App (the only one of its kind).
G: What were the biggest obstacles launching the start-up and how did you overcome them?
Finding the right people to work with, and taking the risk of taking our city jobs at the beginning!
G: Why did you choose Shoreditch to launch your start-up? Or Why do you choose Shoreditch to run your business?
Because it has a lot of energy, and is a great meeting place for so many different entrepreneurs and start-ups.

G: What are your favorite places in Shoreditch?
Drinks at The Hoxton Pony or The Big Chill Bar, Pizza East for some fine dining. Also, Fabrique Bakery and Yum Bun
G: What does the future has in store for your company?
We’re going nationwide, and aim to be the number 1 in our market by the end of the year
