Shoreditch and the streets around Brick Lane have one of the highest concentrations of tattoo studios in London. Some take walk-ins on the day. Others work by appointment only and book weeks ahead through Instagram or email. This guide lists studios in and around Shoreditch, with addresses checked in October 2026 and a note on how each one takes bookings.
Several addresses in the previous version of this guide were out of date and have been corrected. Two studios, Reverse Cowgirl and Light Blue Tattoo, are now based a short way east in Bethnal Green and are included with their current addresses.

Before you book
- Bring ID. It is illegal to tattoo anyone under 18 in the UK, and studios will ask for proof of age.
- Check artists, not just studios. Most studios list each artist’s work and style on Instagram. Choose the artist whose work you like.
- Expect a deposit. Appointment-only studios usually take a deposit to hold a slot.
- Walk-ins depend on the day. Saturdays are busiest. Arrive early or call ahead.
