15 Years of The Blues Kitchen

A special 15th Birthday party to celebrate the music The Blues Kitchen has loved and shared over the last 15 years.

This year marks The Blues Kitchen’s 15th Birthday. Loved for its Southern Style Cocktails, Live Music, barbecue delights and an unrivalled selection of bourbon and whiskey; The Blues Kitchen has become one of the capital’s staple destinations.

On Friday 19th of July, join The Blues Kitchen in celebrating their 15th Birthday as they honour the music they’ve loved and shared over the last 15 years with an extra special Birthday party, featuring a line-up of the venue’s iconic house bands from across the years. The House bands gracing the stage include The Beekays – The Blues Kitchen’s very first house band originally based out of Camden 15 years ago, and She’s Got Brass – an all-female Brass Band which joined the venue earlier this year.

The house bands will be blowing the roof off with sets of classic 60s & 70s Soul, Rock n Roll and Blues, a nod to the sound The Blues Kitchen launched with back in 2009, to modern R&B, Neo-soul, Funk & HipHop that is heard throughout the venue today. Throughout the night, the “BK Street Band – The Brassholes” will be popping up and playing their trumpets all around the venue. All of this will be followed by DJs spinning a timeless selection of Rhythm n Blues. There’ll be plenty of extra surprises throughout the night too, expect confetti drops, free shots, giveaways and more.

Since opening, over 925,000 of their finger lickin’ burgers have been demolished, and nothing short of 6 million of their signature chicken wings have been devoured. Of 5,250,000 cocktails consumed, 800,000 of which were their good ol’ Margaritas. More than a bar and restaurant, but a music venue in its own right, The Blues Kitchen has hosted over 100,000 hours of live music performances since it opened in 2009. Musicians spanning over six continents have taken to the stage, (just Antarctica left to complete) – including the iconic The Libertines, Seasick Steve, The Mystery Jets, Gary Clark Jr and more, alongside our city’s very own, incredible homegrown talent, including Errol Linton, Acantha Lang, Baby Shambles, Remi Banton and hosting the worlds longest Blues Jam lasting 100 hours.

Keep an eye on The Blues Kitchen’s Instagram (@theblueskitchen), In the build-up to the 15th Birthday party, the venue will be running a series of competitions for the chance to win  prizes including 10 tickets and a £1k bar tab for their Birthday celebrations.
