Ceilidh, the new musical in which the audience can get up and dance, has extended its run at Shoreditch Town Hall until Saturday 28 February 2027. The show’s own site says extra weeks have been added and that Christmas, New Year and Burns Night performances are now on sale. London Theatre reported the extension on 5 November.

The London booking page at London Theatre Direct lists the run as 22 October 2026 to 28 February 2027. Made in Shoreditch covered the opening when the advertised end date was 13 November.

What the show is

Ceilidh, pronounced kay-lee, is written by Scott Gilmour and Claire McKenzie of Noisemaker and directed by Tony Award-winner Sam Pinkleton, who also directed Oh, Mary!. It comes from Alan Cumming’s inaugural season at Pitlochry Festival Theatre and has had a US run. Gilmour plays Ramsay, the evening’s caller; the company has 16 actor-musicians.

The running time is 2 hours 15 minutes including an interval. Official London Theatre lists the show as suitable for all ages and warns of strong language, haze and loud music. Dancing is optional; the show site says the steps are simple and that people who stay seated are welcome.

Shoreditch Town Hall is at 380 Old Street, London EC1V 9LT.

Tickets

Booking is open through the show’s box-office link on London Theatre Direct. Official London Theatre currently lists tickets from £28; London Theatre’s news page gives a from-£32 figure. The old 13 November closing date still shown on Official London Theatre has not been updated to match the extension.
