Wingerz Wingz, the chicken wing brand from Tottenham, opens at Boxpark Shoreditch on Friday 6 November, with free wings for the first 20 people through the door and £1.50 wings on launch day while they last.
The grand opening runs from 12.30pm to 5.30pm, and the counter stays open into the evening, according to the brand’s Eventbrite listing. Free tickets for the launch were listed as sold out on 1 November.
From a university dorm to Boxpark
The founder, Naomi Oppong, started the business cooking for friends in her university dorm, Boxpark says. The brand has spent six years on the street food market and festival circuit and runs a site in Tottenham, according to its listing. Boxpark says it won Best Newcomer at Wing Fest.
Boxpark’s listing calls its apple crumble wings award-winning. The launch menu also lists candy floss chicken wings, honey sesame wings and the Wingerz Special, alongside slow-cooked brisket, loaded fries, burgers and mac and cheese. Boxpark’s listing adds jollof rice and honey butter cornbread. All the chicken is halal, and there are vegetarian and vegan options.
