Shoreditch has more places to eat than most of London, but many of its best-known restaurants only open in the evening. This guide covers the places that serve lunch, from takeaway beigels that cost less than £10 to a set lunch at Arnold Circus. All opening hours were checked in October 2026 and can change, so it is worth checking before you set off.
For dinner, see the Shoreditch restaurants guide.
Cheap eats and takeaway
Beigel Bake
159 Brick Lane, E1 6SB. Open 24 hours, seven days a week.
The Brick Lane bakery is open around the clock and is best known for its salt beef beigel, which costs under £10. Plain and cream cheese beigels cost much less. There is no seating, so most people eat on the street or take their beigels away.
Pizza Union Spitalfields
25 Sandy’s Row, Spitalfields.
Pizza Union sells thin-crust pizzas cooked to order. On its current menu a Marinara costs £3.95 and a Margherita £5.95, which makes it one of the cheapest sit-down lunches in the area. It is a short walk from Liverpool Street station.
Upmarket at the Truman Brewery
Brick Lane Food Hall, Old Truman Brewery, 83 Brick Lane, E1 6QR. Monday to Saturday 11am to 6pm, Sunday 10am to 6pm.
The food hall in the Old Truman Brewery has street food stalls from around the world under one roof. It suits groups who cannot agree on what to eat, and there is space to sit down inside.

Tips for lunch in Shoreditch
- Go early on weekends. Brick Lane and Arnold Circus fill up from noon on Saturdays and Sundays, when the markets are on.
- Check days, not only hours. Several places on this list close on Sunday or Monday.
- Book where you can. Rochelle Canteen takes bookings. E Pellicci does not.
